Finally done with my newest upgrades.

Finally done with my newest upgrades. I added the drag chain, the touch plate and the nema 17 belt driven kit. The drag chain and touch plate are so nice and we’ll worth it. I’m very very happy. No more trying to see if maybe it’s zeroed out. Next is limit switches.

Jealous of the touch plate! That is my next upgrade.

Looks great, what is the foot print size now? Did you have much trouble getting the machine level?

It’s 1mx1m and it’s slightly off lvl so I’m going to go .03 down on the whole thing. I have a ¾ end mill for it. @Anton_Fosselius @Andrew_Hague

The touch plate was so cheap only $20 on amazon.

If you guys want to see what I use my shapeoko for come look at my shop. https://www.etsy.com/shop/VenutoWoodWork .

What is the advantage of the belt drive over the NEMA 17 mounted on top? Was the belt drive a homemade upgrade or off the shelf?

You can buy it from shapeoko not inventables 2 separate company’s. It allows the spindle to go higher with out hitting that top plate. I hit it a few times using a longer ¼ bit and forgot to change my settings. Also if you’re using a longer spindle it’s a great upgrade for that. I will be upgrading to a bigger spindle eventually so I did the upgrade now.

Also I think it looks cooler. @Cecil_Clontz

@Venuto_Woodwork do you have a link to the touch plate on Amazon?
