Finally found a good way to use the @Faberdashery_Ltd 100m hanks, and it involves cake.
Take one old spool (@rigid_ink black ASA :), an unopened box of @Polymaker1 Polysmooth, a Lazy Susan and a largish tin of cake. Also add the original @Josef_Prusa spool holder, as the filament threads though a hole in that before heading for the extruder.
Works like a charm. For an even slicker version that doesn’t need the Polysmooth, simply add more cake.
