Finally found some time to play with my Opto isolators again. I switched the high voltage supply side from using the 5v regulated output of the stepper drivers to just taking the 24v supply direct.
That seems to work great as can be seen from the input/output traces.
Only problem is it looks like when I had my oops and blew a stepper driver a couple of weeks back I also blew the opto-isolator connected because that is the only one I can’t get a peep out of. So I guess I’ll buy another and I might finally be back in business.
