Finally got home to print @Louise_Driggers now - famous dragon, Aria. 0.1mm layers, one of my best looking surface finishes to date! Only minor knife work to remove strings. Tempted to find some fine grit somewhere to polish it up but the small cavities keep me away from that. A great model, I’m sure my wife will love it.
I’ll finally get to do this in a few days!
Just a few repairs now I’m also home!
Amazing creativity.
@Devin_Grady lovely print.
Any/What’s yr retraction, acceleration settings?
Printing speed & time?
Slicer?
Thank you
@Devin_Grady This is a great print. Thank you for sharing the pictures.
@Electra_Flarefire Dragon printing a dragon:-)
@Louise_Driggers can’t have too many dragons!
And I’m still a long way from being able to print some of the big complex dragon models.
One day…
@Ivan_Hoe I can’t remember the exact settings but the name of the game tends to be “slow and consistent” – I went down to 20mm/s and kept infill and perimeters around the same speed (I think infill was 25). This avoids rapid pressure changes that my Bowden setup can’t seem to really achieve. I’m really looking for quality and am always willing to sacrifice speed. Sliced with Cura. The time it took was maybe 3-4 hours? I can’t remember for sure.
I also recently took to adding a small bit of sponge just before the extruder with a small amount of mineral oil on it and this seems to make my flow more consistent.
Thanks @Devin_Grady for sharing. Maybe i’ll try printing this dragon, Aria.
Incredible!
