Finally, my first 3D printer kit has landed. I just brought home a 1up from Qu-Bd. let the fun begin.
Hopefully, you have everything you need, including a proper set of instructions!
Am watching this model with keen interest. I have no illusions of a plug-n-play work of art - certainly not for $200. But as more and more people get theirs functioning (please make sure to post comments and reviews of your progress!) I’m more encouraged to buy one and enhance it on my own.
Well, all the instructions seem to be only on the net, so my iPad is coming in handy. Too many small parts too check full inventory against the online parts list.
Back to work.
Well, not quite halfway. This wood-like material isn’t forgiving. The instructions I got via the official unofficial forum are different from the early 2up video with Chelsea. Plus, I think I got two parts from the 2up kit. There are two larger clear plastic washers (and they too have plastic on both sides to peel off), that when installed like the 2up leaves too few threads to get a good bite. Such that when one tightens the belt, the idlers pop off the stepper-motor’s face plate. It is much less covenant getting to the point of having already put it back together a second time. That is we’re I’m at at this point. I need four nuts and eight washers for the belt clamps. I have to back-off the belt’s gear and get it closer to the pulley. This will be the second time fixing it. The first time I had the 2up spacers installed and I over-tightened one of the clamps and needed a nut in order to tighten it down and the other one cracked maybe by uneven tightening. Lop-sided or whatever. Anyway, it’s past my bedtime. Pause.
