Finished !!! 5904 leds. 16 pins parallel output on eps32.=>82fps. I need to clean up the code of the FastLED library.
Now coding. Euh no now drinking !!
Thank to the community for all the good tips.
Still need to create a new board with Ethernet cable to bring the signal.

What did you use for the backing material?

Simple 1.8cm chipboard that I have painted missing/deleted image from Google+

Wow!! Bravo Yves! Hope to come near Brux someday and discover the beast

Very cool!! Where are you going to mount it? And how are you planning to mount/conceal the power supply wiring/etc?

@Ryan_Cush all the power and data wires will be stuck behind the board. It doesn’t show clearly on the picture but the strips are longer than the board of two pixels. So they can ‘wrap’ around the board. The panel by itself will be mounted like a white board on wheels. So I can move it easily. It will go against the 4.5m wall of mine living room.

That must be crazy bright, I guess you only run a very restricted brightness! How many amps does it draw?

@Will_Tatam maximum 360A (6000 leds x 0.06A) if I go white full brightness. I have set up for max 64 in brightness and I never go full white hence theorical max draw 90. But I have 6x40A power supplies. Theorically I could push the brightness to 170 but then I will need sunglasses lol

love this. congrats on getting them all connected

@Yves_BAZIN just to be known: I had made 4 customs +5V 100A Power Supplies from China for Circularium in 2016. 100A running at +5 volts Yeh! I can retrieve the name of the factory if needed. It’s clear it was more than needed  Still Bravo @Yves_BAZIN

@Derrick_Giscloux it’s good to know !!! It’s not that easy to find

@Yves_BAZIN I’d guess you need a different backing to spread the heat at full power too.

@Thomas_Balu_Walter indeed. I have tested letting the panel open for 6hours in a row, the power supplies on open air? They are really ok you can touch them. When order them i received couple of them with fan integrated and it makes a big difference. I have received a new power. So stuck all this on a metal plate to help heat distribution and of course keep a good distance between the panel and the wall.
Thinking about it why not an heat sensor plugged to the esp to display the power supply temp ?

@Yves_BAZIN You have gotten me interested in the ESP32. From your post, I take it you have worked out how to get parallel output working on >8 pins on that board. Can you share that bit of your code?

@Mark_Estes yes I have a 16 parallel output version. I need to clean up the code before sharing again. It has a downside though it can be really sensible to interrupts. What I have seen so far is the first pixel connecting to the pin is blinking once WiFi is activated. I have in my build ‘dead’ pixels. Hence the version of @Sam_Guyer which uses rmt but with 8 parallel output.
I would say that so far for what I do it works like a charmed

@Yves_BAZIN Awesome work. You are a madman!!

@Sam_Guyer aha thx for the compliment !! It’s a good challenge. Once i have cleaned the code of the FastLED library maybe we could merge our two versions ?

@Yves_BAZIN Yes, please. All these forks are making it difficult to use the correct one if you are a newbie.

@Yves_BAZIN Sounds like a good idea. I’ll start looking at it while you build insane projects!
