Great looking i3. Built 4 of these myself, love this printer!
Well, done the standard ‘cube’ to calibrate and pretty good. Bottom was a bit messy but once I levelled it a second time, all good. Very impressed with it so far. The only thing is the acrylic is pretty brittle and when it comes to the bottom rods, they are held by a single screw which isn’t quite tight enough but it I tighten it more, it breaks the acrylic. Think I need to design something thats better to hold those rods in place.
And that is why acrylic is such a bad choice for frames. Maybe if the acrylic was twice as thick but then the price would be much higher.
I don’t think its too bad as a material but the design needs to be rethought a bit at the point metal meets the acrylic. I’ve made a couple of mods and now its fine.
