Finishing up my little i3 build. I really like this printer. There’s vibration in the x bearings that I need to kill. They are old lm8uu bearings so I didn’t expect perfection. But for the first print I’m pretty damn impressed. The printed parts were all done buy me from the vanilla repo with a modified frame to use 1/2" ply and be CNC routered instead of laser cut. All the linear, electronic, and most of the threaded rod was scavenged from an first gen Prusa.

Finished (well sort of) the printer build I was wiring last night. Its printing new end stop mounts for itself. First print.

And one of my z motors completely lockup up on print two. Good thing I have a pile of mass drop motors.

Nice. I’ve got parts on the way to build an i3 as well. Hoping it all goes to plan cause it’s going to be 12^3.

…good to know Ply will work for a frame. I built a 4’ x 4’ CNC machine in my basement but would HATE to tear into a sheet of acrylic and mess it up. Working on converting my Mendel to an i3 variant and plywood will be my go-to material for mock up
