Finishing up my @Printrbot Simple build tonight and came up a few M3 hex nuts short. Anyone experienced this and/or have a good source for them? Will any old but do or do I need a thin one?
Thanks in advance.

Any well stocked hardware store will have them.
I like http://boltdepot.com. Ships out of MA, which can be expensive. Otherwise, you can get good prices on bulk stuff on ebay, but that doesn’t sound like your question.
Fastenal should have some, and can order to the store for you if they don’t. Ace Hardware is usually my next bet, and Lowe’s and Home Depot are likely to accommodate, but M3 is a little small for their stock.
It really depends on your city, but if you check your yellow pages you can probably find a place in an industrial park. I live in a small city, but found an awesome shop which is literally a warehouse with a counter in the front. They have every fastener imaginable and prices are better than any eBay or big box source I’ve been able to find.
Also Printrbot has amazing customer service. I bet if you shoot them an email they can drop some in letter mail for you at minimal or no charge.
Ace hardware has a pretty good selection on M3 machine screws.
Fastenall or MSC direct have good prices when buying in bulk. Ace sells one nut. Compare prices based on the actual quantity needed.
Yeah, actually contacting Printrbot is a good idea if your kit came short. I’ve heard similar stories about them throwing small bits like that in an envelope priority mail.
They sent me a new heater cartridge for free. Of course, I did write them a haiku about how sad I was that it broke.
@Tony_Olivo yeah, my HD & Lowes were a no go. I’m going to drop by ace on lunch today and then contact @Printrbot if I have no luck there. Boltdepot.com looks sweet as well but I am like a kid with a new toy he can’t wait to play with, 5 days may as well be a year
Thanks everyone for your responses.
Whenever I need metric screw/nut and I don’t have it stock up I go to local Sears-hardware section, they have many of them.
Home depot has them.
But I agree printrbot will make it right if you contact them
Harbor freight has a decent kit of hardware from m3- m6 plus some self tapping hardware and all the nuts bolts washers/lock washers for the supplied
My apology! Let us know if we can help.
Thanks @Brook_Drumm , I did submit a ticket but found them @ Ace hardware today. But sadly then I was doing a calibration test and the green wire from the small motor got wrapped around the acme rod and was ripped out of the motor. Any change you guys sell replacement stepper motors?
