Finishing up the “small” delta, but unfortunately I do not yet have a build plate. I love MIC-6 and think I will stick with it for this build, but I need it custom cut to shape. Does anyone have access to a waterjet or cnc that could cut me 1/4in aluminum plate in the US? Or have recommendations for a place that could do it inexpensively?
Water jet is about the most expensive option out there, would laser cutting work or would the heat cause warping of the mic6?
Laser cutting should work fine as long as it can get through the 1/4in @jerryflyguy
I have an x-carve cnc that made quick work of my mic6 plate for my custom core-xy: Check out your local techshop (if one is near you) : I’d guess they have something similar?
@Griffin_Paquette lasers can cut into the inches of steel, 1/4" aluminum won’t be but a mild obstacle
or as @Eric_Pavey noted get it cut via a shop with a mill or router. Might not be as cheap as laser?
Contact @Clockwerk_Mech . He has been top notch for me.
