First attempt at printing myself.

First attempt at printing myself. A bit failed but still very very cool!!! Peppar 2.0.

Anybody have any ideas on how to correct my chin?

(Except plastic surgery, oh wait, if I cut in the model, does that count as plastic surgery???)

I scanned myself using Skenect Pro and then printed using Cura. I haven’t figured out how to add supports in Cura yet (got my printer today :))

My second print which was twice the size and with 20% infill worked much better!

With blender you can process the surface of the model, smoothening out all bumps.

Get a fan, I suspect the small layers @ chin didn’t have time to cool properly.

The Ultimaker has a fan already but I got a tip to reduce the minimum layer time as the head might be sitting too long in one place and remelting the plastic it has already laid down.

Thanks for the tip to use Blender. Any pointers on how to do it more specifically?

By the way, the second attempt went much better. I printed at double size and with 20% infill instead of 10%.

What did you use to model your head? Is it that 123D Catch ?

@Peter_Parnes I haven’t used blender much myself. But i know that is one of the things it can do.

Sorry that i can’t be of any help there…

There are some tutorials on youtube though.

I used Skenect Pro with the Asus variant of the Kinect. The scanning was way easier than I thought it would be.
