I finally cut some wood. The out line worked well but the holes showed me somm loose lead screws.
Try and use a small dia than the screw holes true 1/8 in depth of cut and cut holes in pass rough and then finish. Start center out slow feed in holes. But I like Rock on!
One last thing reduce the cut width to 50% or less. Reduce the cut load in the end mill in the hole
Thank you Steve. Before one of my y-screws and my x-screw lost tension the holes were round. That is piece number 4 trying to get my g-code right. When I am ready to make real parts I’ll use different cutters and precut the outline on a bandsaw. The cut is 1/2" deep. Can I expect an 1/8" cutter to be stiff enough? That is a 1/4" straight flute router bit at 1/8" steps.
I would experiment with the depth. But I would go in passes. And no on the 1/8 cutter, I have broken several small cutter.
Looking great bud. You can also do canned cycles with the proper size drill bit.
