First job after install of modded Z-axis (no spacers), resurface work area
That looks like something I can use. Slick!
Wilhelm, do you have any info on your z upgrade?
Yes I am getting data to post on shapeoko forum and maybe a YouTube video, but here are the basics…
- You need an extra maker-slide plate
- HDPE or other material 13mm thick for the z axis plates
- HDPE or other material 10mm thick (or 7mm and 3mm, what I did with HDPE and aluminium) for the bearings plate.
I just uploaded the plates slt files to Thingiverse.
Alternately if you have a 3D printer you could skip steps 2,3 and just print the parts.
FYI, I use pyCAM to import the stl files and generate gcode, also easy to project to 2D and change thickness of the material.
Performance wise, I haven’t seen any angular shift since the mod.
