first opinions of ninjaflex semiflex.
my previous experience with flexible materials was an experimental rubber filament i i bough from 3dsystems in new zealand in 2012 which is alot like pushing a rubberband down a tube, with all of the expected hilarity that ensues, but it never warped and is/was indestructable and never delaminated. the other is/was ecoflex pla which was easier to print with in terms of not getting caught in the gears, but didnt like sticking to the bed, with or without heat (scotch clear glue stick fixed that problem beautifully)
Ive spent the last few hours printing with the ninjaflex semiflex and it seems to be the hybrid best of both worlds; it sticks easily to the bed, doesnt warp at all and is stiff enough to push down the bowden while producing prints that are “softer” than the ecoflex but not drastically so. I applied the settings i had for the ecoflex (285c temp, 8mm retraction, 0c bed, 20mm/s) and all is right in the world.
very excited to add this filament to my material stack.
