You know you could eliminate the need for the smooth rods by ising the right kind of slide setup on the rails.
I am using these derlin pads on mine they work perfectly. No slop slides smooth and no need to oil ans derlin is a self lubricating hard plastic.

Fully realise, the whole ethos of this is overkill with a solid frame, the rails will add a little extra rigidity to the structure.
Don’t you already have a printer farm? Would love to pick your brain sometime of common issues I face regularly that may be a simple fix
