Nothing surprising there. You will want to make sure you have non-PLA versions of those parts handy, because the PLA ones will eventually fail, especially where they meet the motor.
The main reason I did this was because of the abysmal air flow issues in the original Toranado which created frequent thermal runaway errors. I wanted to have a visual of what was happening with the new version.
Nice way to test and visualise heat transfer. Clever. I will need to go and find myself some thermal filament
