First print on Goliath since having the end effector carry the filament drive motor. It’s a huge hack, just ziptied to the tether and piano wire in the tether to kind of keep it upright. Spool was placed to give you a sense of scale. This print will use up the entire spool of filament if Simplify3D is accurate.
Is the frame stiff enough for this size with no braces?
Wow. What’s the predicted print time on that? Best measured in days I presume!?
@Thomas_Sanladerer my concerns exactly.
That’s pretty big
What extrusion is used on the sides? Looks to be 40x40…
@Rick_Sollie MakerSlide, standard profile with 40x40 braces.
@Thomas_Sanladerer yeah, the corners hidden under the black covers are pretty thick aluminum casts. They don’t allow the machine to flex or wobble as much as you would expect for this size. The T slot bolts into about 5mm thick aluminum corners.
Except for twice as tall,
Awesome!!!
When can I get one?
@William_Steele it’s a one-off.
That is a huge delta!
Holy mother of large scale printers…
Whoa. You could probably print a life size 3d scan of a person on that! (or at least a child)
Any specs about build volume?
@Kristijan_kolak 3ft tall (1200mm), by somewhere close to 600mm wide
