First print with NinjaFlex: a lovejoy-style semi-flexible coupling as a part of my filament extruder’s screw drive. Ninjaflex at 50% infill has just the right elasticity for this job, but at 1.75mm is extremely sensitive to even moderate print speeds. Fenner recommends 30mm/s, but i had to go down to 5mm/s to keep it from buckling in those 2mm between where the extruder’s hobbed bolt ends and the short bowden tube starts that i used to convert my extruder from 3mm to 1.75mm.
Cheers to the guys at E3D for adding the NinjaFlex to my package!
Jealous. Get my E3D through a US supplier filastruder. Received one yesterday, extras… only the gummy bears.
Can i ask which size of nozzle that is? I have the 0.5 with the Reprap Pro Mendel and it would never do anything as high a quality as that!
@Mark_Fletcher standard 0.4mm nozzle, 0.35mm layers (0.2mm on the NinjaFlex part)
LOVE IT!
@Thomas_Sanladerer Awesome. Thanks for getting back to me
I was a bit disappointed that it’s not very stretchy, but it does feel ideal for a bush. Which shouldn’t be surprising as I’ve fitted Polyurethane bushes to my car before.
