First Prints From Flyingbear P902
About two months ago I received my Flyingbear in the mail and I finally got around to building it a few weeks ago.Today I cleaned up the wiring and made the printer a little more presentable (it’s in our guest bedroom).
Overall, I am very impressed with the output from this printer. You can see a few examples below. The T-Rex and dragon took several attempts because they print several pieces that combine into the main body. As far as I could tell, when the head moved it was knocking the pieces loose and the build failed. I was able to add a retraction hop and that solved this problem.
The dog is supposed to fully articulating but the joints are fused together. The surface finish is really good on it however.
The phone case was my first created part and it highlights one of the issues I am having with part quality. The only issue I really have is on flat surfaces. The phone case was printed top down and I would have expected the flat surface to be very smooth. However, when you look at it, the surface has a lot of gap in it. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
I am using Onshape to create parts, the rest of the parts came from Thingverse. I use the cloud based Astroprint with the slicer set to Cura. I did try the Slic3r option but it would not create some of the supports and was a lot slower. Files are transferred to the printer by SDcard. All of my work is done on a Chromebook.
I am thinking of adding an Astrobox to my printer for wireless printing. Does anyone have any experience with one?
I have enjoyed learning from all the post in this comunity
Thank you!
