First weekend with my new 3d printer done! I managed to get about 40 hours of printing OpenRC parts!

Wow, those wheels look beautiful! I’d be interested to see what you find are the best settings for printing the differential gears on the 2X as I have had mediocre results so far most of the time on my 2X with very small parts.

Right now i have printed some gears in Nylon 910 on my Rep 1 which i´m going to try but i´ll print a few in ABS on the 2X once i´m done printing the big parts.

@William_Mounfield Ok so I tried to print the gears in the 2X and the result was totally unusable. This was kind of a surprise as I print those in my first gen Replicator with a very good result.
Then I switched to sailfish firmware on the 2X and they printed just fine.

@Daniel_Noree Ok thank you for the info on your trial run! I haven’t switched to sailfish, but I will give it a try now that you have gotten such good results. What version of sailfish did you use and were there any particular settings that gave you such good results?

@William_Mounfield I’m not sure if it’s because I’m dead tired but gears are failing again so I might have to take my previous statement back… Hmm…

@Daniel_Noree Hmm…Did you get everything fixed up and rolling again with your 2X? I will try sailfish out tomorrow and print some over the weekend to see how well it works.

@William_Mounfield Sorry, I’ve been preparing for a talk I will be doing at a conference on 3D printing in Stockholm tomorrow. I’ve done some minor things but have yet to test it properly. Let’s see by the end of the week.
