For all of you tantillus/ingentis fans.

For all of you tantillus/ingentis fans. I know tightening dynema/ spectra cables is a pain but not any more.
This is my easy tensioning x/y end. Should work on all tantillus variants but is modified for 10mm rods and 10mm push fit self centering bronze bushings. Because that’s what my ultislot uses let me know and I’ll make one for 8mm rods. If you’d like a copy of the .stl file message me. The rod clamp is a little booggered up because I forgot to turn on support. I’m surprised it recovered at all. It is designed for the guitar tuning key shown: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200952281050?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

@Tim_Rastall

I was so surprised when i saw the hole in the tuners rod lined up perfectly

Haha, guitar string tensioner?

@ThantiK yeah. I was trying to string my machine and cussing about the difficulty and pain of it cutting into my hand. Thinking there had to be a better way. And saw a guitar later. So I ordered some on eBay under 8 bucks us shipping included

shiny!

Lol sorry about the glare

This is very cleaver. I don’t have a fishing line bot, but if i did i would want to use this setup.

Nice work Dustin!

You should post this in the Tantillus section on the Reprap forums.

Very clever indeed

@Tim_Rastall thanks Tim I will once I finish my bot and get it tested I have a few more tricks up my sleeve but am waiting on a few things before I can take measurements to design the parts

Also id like to point out due to the relocation of the carriage rod clamp gap it is now stronger and much less likely to break when tightening due to delamination.
