For anyone who uses EagleCAD for their designs, especially those who have paid for a license (like me) and have voiced their opinion regarding the license model with their latest release … they just buckled under customer pressure. They’re completely pitching the new model and reverting back to the old one. Carry on!
Yes this is great news. I squawked at them about it. (And the fact that after upgrading just last year, upgrades to 7 cost $550)
I’m certain I’m just a small drop in their big bucket, but between myself and several other friends who I recommended over the years, they would’ve lost a few thousand dollars since we all decided to not upgrade to v7 and start looking at either KiCAD or gEDA (which we’re still looking into since both are open source or at least GPL’d.)
