For the first time even MakerBot presents their brand-new line of 3D printers. Watch how Bre Pettis reveals the secrets and shows MakerBot’s new machines right here on the CES 2014.

Our lab owns an older stratasys and let me tell you, there are some very stratasys-like additions to these machines. The build plates even have the tell-tale removable build plates with the twist-tab releases in the front.
Perhaps that’s because sratasys owns makerbot
@ThantiK I was wondering how much Stratasys tech Makerbot would start to use, especially the heated chamber. I wonder what the slicing software and GCode for these machines will look like. I think the Z18 may be a reasonably priced machine compared to the Mojo, but that depends on how well the machine actually performs. I’m a little surprised that they don’t have a DRM system on the machines yet.
Out of all the videos that came out during CES, has anyone seen it printing? Noticed the models on the floor had a ‘do not touch’ sign. just want to see it actually printing, soon enough
They only seem to advertise that it’s optimized for PLA only. Is this true?
ooooh…play with my knob. ROFL (at about the 3 minute mark, he brags about the knob)
NAY for makerbot. I am a cheapass and those prices are for millionaires
@Mike_Kowalczyk did you happen to think that I knew that, and that’s exactly why I mentioned it? Smartass.
Have they shown any of their camera or mobile interfaces actually working?
@Billy As far as I am concerned, no
Maybe that’s why the shipping of new Replicator and Z18 starts in spring and not now.
