For those if you with a PrintRite DIY printer,

For those if you with a PrintRite DIY printer, there is an LCD screen (the board which looks like a Duet, already has an SD card). The LCD is plug and go. I printed out a simple case and mounted the case on the front panel. I must say this printer has been bullet proof and in a short while it will get a separately powered heatbed (a heatbed is not supported by the vendor as of yet).

Agreed. I’m doing this to all my babies

can you do this with the larger screens like this one

It’s easy to do. If you want the STL to modify send me your email and I will fire it off to you

I can create the case part but i was just wondering if the board and software would be compatible with a larger display

Oh that I can’t tell you. You will get the LCD part but the SD will likely not function

okay that is fine since there already is an SD card slot on the motherboard thanks

how do you connect the screen to the board? can you post pictures?

There is one and only one plug and it is keyed…kinda a no brainer

because on the printer the connector has 14 pins and the connector from the LCD display has 10 pins http://www.amazon.com/OSOYOO-Graphic-Display-Controller-connector/dp/B00J1X4MFQ/ref=pd_sbs_328_2?ie=UTF8&dpID=51-qFn5dxML&dpSrc=sims&preST=AC_UL160_SR160%2C160&refRID=1RHVS9PRQJKH8P975MS2

Oh I see. I bought the display from hobbyking and that had a prewired cable.

I think I have one of these lying around and could try hooking it up

Printrite original board only excepts the printrite lcd, fullsmartlcd reprap screens will not work.

thanks, but i figured it out when it didn’t work LOL!!! So instead i am going to replace the whole board with rep rap for the bigger screen, self leveling, and more extrudes. hopefully I will get the video done soon.

I swapped all mine out to ramps1.4 a little while back and changed to a e3d all metal hotend (had to design the parts from scratch so they looked like they belong on the printrite), you can find all the part designs, modified marlin firmware, hardware list and a thorough duscussion/walkthrough on thingiverse if you struggle with any of it.

sounds good thanks
