Forget the toys and gadgets,

Forget the toys and gadgets, THIS is what 3d printing is all about!

Awesome! That’s what scientific progress is all about - helping babies grow up!

3d printing is for printing what YOU need. Doctors need medical gear, NASA needs rocket engines, Artists need a funnel for physical expression, hobbyists need structural parts for RC, Kitchen Drawers, USB holders, Millenium Falcons. No need to hate.

No hate intended, I just meant that we all print trinkets compared to things that save a person’s life. Don’t take me wrong, I love my 3d printer but nothing I’ll make will ever be this cool. My own kids had a sucrose based polymer lattice in their skulls after early childhood operations so I may be biased. It was not printed, took hours, etc. Medical printing will be beyond this in leaps and bounds. Like a Lattice to hold the cells to grow into organs and who knows what else in the future! I’m not hating, I’m just amazed. - but yes, I’ll keep printing them toys along side my kitchen tool racks, etc.

A Hammer can be used to construct a Church, Hospital, Dog House, or Tree House…doesn’t make any of them more or less worthy.

If you feel your prints are unworthy, print some prosthetics for the cause!
