This accurately illustrated my point when it comes to ordering stuff from Aliexpress/Alibaba: communication is a must! You may have said one thing in your e-mail but they interpret it different. Communitate, ask questions, ask for verification, even pictures. Most vendors worth their salt will gladly take a picture of the product for you (as opposed to sending you what they show online.) I’ve even had one take pictures with a set of digital calipers showing dimensions for me. Communicate! Do it once, a 2nd time, and definitely a ‘3th’ time prior to purchase. 
Huh - I’d be curious to see more of those kind of flat leds, I might be able to put them to use…
A lot of those are used for ceiling lights.
If anyone ever sees big coloured bar COB LEDs give me a shout. You can get white and blue, but not red and green anymore.

Something like 20cm long, in the 10-20W range maybe? The last time I saw coloured ones was on http://dx.com, but they’ve kinda disappeared in the last two or three years.

you can find a few in automotive theses are only 6w but cob seems to be better lumen to watt ratio

It’s not the after market aspect (if that’s the case, then no one but car dealerships can sell parts, no one else.) It’s the distraction caused to other drivers that they’ll nail you with.
yeah you have a point the distraction is the big thing but seems like alsmost anything here can get you in trouble you now a days
I’ve watched my neighbor replace his headlamps for yellow ones and get a ticket before he even drove out of the parking lot - his luck, there was a cop sitting at the street corner watching for speeders down our street.
