Franken bot update #2
So a slight change in design plans… This week we learned that about 30 students want to build the printers. This means that we would have to print 30 sets of printed parts to be able to do so. After a lot of thought I have decided to focus more on making the frame primarily laser cut/cnc cut. This video shows the extruder carriage design as well as the y axis assembly. The backbone for the y is being designed right now. Love how @Brook_Drumm ’s interpretation was (check out his YouTube channel for it) and am super excited to see how mine will compare.
Still trying to keep all the parts easy enough to make with a few simple tools (drill, handsaw/jigsaw, etc.)

The extruder carriage was made with a jigsaw and a drill and that’s it! I made it in 20 minutes or so and it lines up well.
