Vacuum forming is a nice idea and perfectly usable for some projects, but my personal opinion is that it’s too much hassle for the home market.
Either its have 3D printer, print mould, make form, then VF or it’s a case of making the form from scratch (I’m not sculpture minded and simply couldn’t do that) then VF.
In one case you need two machines and in the other you need specific skills.
It’s certainly not as accessible as 3D printing, although for those with the machinery and skills I suppose it is a viable option.
