Further to my post about the bed standoffs yesterday, this is now what I’m getting. Dat perfect first layer do… hnng…
first thought you had crazy warping going on everywhere, but you are printing on glass above ALU, right? hence the shadows…
@Anton_Fosselius aye, using the Ally to spread the heat as it’s only a MK2B heater underneath and the bed is 220x260. Auto Levelling via copper contact points on the glass
saw your previous post, not sure i understand though - what was heabed sitting on prior to this mod (i’m assuming springs)? and how did this improve your problem? did you print different sized cubes or are they all the same?
@Tom_Keidar It was held up with nuts, no springs, for some reason, no matter how much I manually levelled the bed, it would always overcompensate at one corner. The cubes are all the same height so guaranteeing that the bed is totally locked down, is rigid and isn’t making the Aluminium carriage bend, mine still have a very small amount of flex, and throwing things out of kilter. That being said, I have 2 which are behaving and 1 is all over the place, this is probably due to the board being a little squiffy, it’ll finish a print, then coming to print again the sensor doesn’t trigger, it’s not wiring, as if you turn it off for 30 secs -1min then switch it back on, the sensor triggers. Before you ask, the board is an MKS Base, and yes, they’re horrid. They’ll all get replaced with something along the lines of a RAMBo or a AZSMZ at some point.
i get it now, thanks
one more thing though - what did you print the blocks in? do you think it’ll withstand the heat from the bed?
NGEN. It’s pretty much like ABS for temps… it’ll hold
just read the colorfabb docs on it - seems nice, i think i’ll order some up - but what i could not find is toxicity info on it (that’s the reason i do not use abs). do you have any idea?
Low odor, low microparticulate, there’s no smell at all when printing it. That’s as much as I can give you.
