Genius article here. This could be just what I’m experiencing.

Just had my circuitry rewired and now my printer prints (yay). So started to experiment with ABS and get lots of curling. A quick post on here and I realise it’s the head fans. Have sent lots of codes to the board but the fans don’t stop.

In guessing this might be my issue…

Where do you have the fan plugged in on the board next to the X stepper driver or do you have it on D9? I put mine on D9 and I can control it in Marlin. The Ramps 1.4 diagram you show says to put it in the top 2 pins of the unused stepper motor spot, I never set mine up this way.
