Getting an OX ready for a charity event tomorrow,

Getting an OX ready for a charity event tomorrow, a few new adds (before the kit goes to http://www.hobby-fab.com) captured in this build. Had a blast building it! Can’t wait to play with the laser again before delivery.

Tried a slatwall panel waste board on this one, not recommended, looks nice but is not flat. Internal stresses cause the board to want to curl from the slotting.

Free shipping on this kit is limited to SMW3D only, and will not last much longer if you know a maker in need, let 'em know, now is the time!

I thought of using slat board as well. They are nice to put on a wall to hang things but don’t work well at all on a cnc. I have gone with 3/4 mdf and a hundred threaded inserts. Tried T-track as well but it was always a pain to try and work the bolts into the track. Especially since my bed is over 50 inches long. Really thinking about building a vacuum table…

Hi, do you have some image of the router mount. For some reason my z axis v roller screws hit the router holder. Don’t have manual assemble view. Maybe I have the wrong size screw ???

Is that laser for engraving? I’ve been thinking about attempting to try a laser distance device… So I can probe… Without touching anything.

@Chuck_Broten yeah man, think I’ve tried about everything and a flat piece of MDF is hard to beat. Even tried these with Al insets, just junk.

@Mike_Gallo if you are running a 71mm mount it probably does hit the screws. This and other mounts we sell, stay inside 60mm.

@Nick_Portelli it is an engraving/cutting laser. Neat idea on the probe. It would require you always cutting metal. One could use an optical but would have to spend the bucks to get a tight tolerance unit, post that some type of processor to change the distance measurement to a bang bang/ on off thing. Could certainly be done though.

@Brandon_Satterfield thank you , i will change it.
