Hmm doesn’t look like much support under the Z axis with those table linear bearings. Racking may be an issue? That’s why lots of moving gantry folks go for dual drives. Center drive works better with moving tables.
This is very much like a motion frame I had conceived for a large printer some time ago. Nice to see it in real life!
It will rack a litlle if you realy push on it, I think it will be fine for wood. I have a cnc’ed bridgeport for the more precise work.
@Eric_Edwards lead screws have a tendency to really push on things. That motor and screw might be able to generate a couple tons of force? That Archimedes dude was one clever fellow.
