Getting closer
printing day and night
Looking good. I am building a blue / white one as well. Have you picked your electronics yet? Are you gonna go with printed shocks or buy shocks?
Thanks all
Yes I also like the blue/white combo
Motor and ESC is on its way: https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=25140
I already got the shocks witch I did buy at conrad: http://www.conradelektronik.dk/REELY-1:10-OLIETRYKSD%26AElig;MPER-R%26Oslash;DMED-TUNING-FJEDRE-SORTL%26AElig;NGDE104-MM1STK.-(513011R).htm?websale8=conrad-dk&pi=237452&ci=SHOP_AREA_32421_1202411&otp1=tablink2
What about your CVDs, radio / transmitter, and battery? I am just curious what all combinations people have.

I did also buy a 2s4000mA lipo from http://hobbyking.com The setup is ready for 3S lipo, but for now I just want to see if the gears can handle the 2S setup.
Wow, that will really help out other people who are starting a build. Well as long as they are in Europe. Those of us on the other side of the pond are out of luck. That spare parts kit is really awesome. I am lucky that my work has a lot of random screws, because buying packs of 100 to get only a few screws can get expensive really fast. I guess it just means that should build four more cars. lol. Keep posting progress pictures.
Maybe, just maybe, I also have borrowed a few parts from my work
I really think this is a great project!
I was planning to print the tires with ninjaflex. I have two full rolls of ninjaflex but it is expensive, so I decided to just to buy some tires as they are cheap compared to ninjaflex.
Joshua what printer are you using?
My work is really cool when it comes to personal projects. They like for us to be in the machine shop using the tools. The more experience we have with things the better. Also, the couple of us that work on stuff like this always end up giving back. It is a race now to see who can get there care running first. lol. I am gonna be at the mercy of HobbyKing. What printer are you using?
BTW regarding my part list, there is no guarantee that it is the right stuff for my RC car, but is is my best shot
Give me 2-3 weeks and I can tell if it fits the car
I have a reprap mendel at home, another mendel at work (in pieces because we are upgrading it) and a Replicator 2x at work. So far I just use my works Replicator 2x because I can start a print in the morning, and another before I go home for the day.
I am using a cheap Velleman K8200 but I think it does a good job. But I really would like the ultimaker 2… dear Santa
One of my colleges also have the K8200 printer and we are comparing parts every day
Joshua I think you have a nice work!! Well I am in a totally other business, so no printers on my work.
Yeah my work is pretty nice as far as using the tools. Having access to a lathe, and vertical mill is amazing.
Did you print your wishbones laying flat? It is tough to tell from the photo. I did thinking it would save time but when I pushed the dowel pins in I realized what Daniel was saying when he said your should print them standing up.
Did it break Joshua? Mine is printed laying flat with PLA. I used a drill to make the holes a bit wider and assemblet it with bolts and nuts.
I used the dowel pins and I think when I start driving the truggy the area around the pins will delaminate when it hits a hard bump. Whenever I break my wishbones I am gonna replace them with aluminum ones.
Well I just want a printed car, so no aluminium for me
If i break mine I will print them in nylon.
