Getting some fine results off my Printrbot at 0.25mm.

Getting some fine results off my @Printrbot at 0.25mm. The yellow gear was printed a week ago at 0.3 and 2% more extrusion steps/mm. Color is neon purple.

@Alex_Anderson I agree @Printrbot can do fine work once you have it all tweaked up. The new all metal Printrbot should be even more stable.

What parameters did you tune? I’m still at yellow year stage with my Prusa i3.

Is that a Printrbot Simple? I’m currently torn between a Simple 2014 or a FlashForge (a Replicator copy).

@David_McGuigan I expect the new Simple (the red metal one) to be a great printer at a great price. If you want dual extruders now, FlashForge might be a better idea.

@Matt_Harrington I tuned motion first - the steps/mm and then speed. Leveling is important - so I replaced the wood bed with a piece of glass. I also tried Cura and use it a lot but these gears were printed in Slic3r. Also I messed with E steps until I got parts that fit (2 layer tops look a little shabby now). Also cut down slic3r setting for over extrusion on first layer.
