Going Nutty
Somebody pinch me; did I really just manage to get the settings right to 3D Print a nut and bolt, and not only that but print them out of nylon?
For those interested…
Printer: @nop_head Mendel 90
Filament: Taulman Bridge (Nylon 645 variant)
Bed: Glass + dilute PVA
Slicer: KISSlicer
Extruder: 245c
Bed: 65c (actually 50c as theres a 15c drop through the glass)
Fan: Yes
Layer Height: 0.15mm
Nozzle: 0.4mm
Loops: 2
Skin: 0.6mm
Infill: 18%
Print Speed: 30mm/s, 45mm/s, 55mm/s (Loops, Solid, Sparse)
Prime/Suck: 3mm
By the way Taulman Bridge is absolutely AWESOME. I found it easier to print than ABS!!
Yes I used the standard hot end. I think I posted my KISSlicer settings before, one moment let me look…
@Nils_Grotheer I posted my Kisslicer settings in the comments on here https://plus.google.com/109352235257103413028/posts/JTJ44tMxf9M have a go with them and let me know how you do
I’ve updated them a bit since but I think it was just speed setting tweaks. Obviously if you are going to try Bridge adjust them as shown above as these were for PLA.
I just noticed a few other tweaks I made. I turned the fan inside percent to 100 and got rid of the min layer time. Also I increased the prime suck to 3mm and the speed of the prime suck.
I appreciate you sharing this!
Nice! I want to build mendel 90 too so far I’ve cnc the frames but I find it hard to assemble - any hint and tips would be nice
@phon_summer because it was my first printer I bought the kit from @nop_head It was really easy to build I just needed to follow the instructions.
