These guys have very nice printers. I saw their prototype at mini maker faire last year. The precision and build quality were amazing.

Yeah you make some really strong points.
Though I think a lot of people would use this to just print a starting point to model off. It what a still be a powerful tool to print out many bash meshes and then be able to sculpt them all differently until you were happy with a prototype.
oh, sorry. A bash mesh is just a low poly mesh that contains only key geometry of a certain. That basic geometry can then be sculpted into the final work.
for example if you were design a character you could print out a generic bust with no detail in Plasticine and then build upon that.
if you didn’t like your final results move onto the next blank bust.
Then you can always melt down the failed busts and print another.
