just do ‘systemctl disable gdm’ as root and the GUI will stop coming up on boot. No need to install a different distro for that.

Yes, I appreciate it. This particular BBB will be used as kind of a general purpose Linux server, but I may use a BBB in the future for GPIO-intensive stuff, and I’ll probably keep Angstrom for that.
