Very nice, what type of accuracy are you getting on the gap measurements? I remember reading people were toying with marlin to put a correction in foot Cartesian printers as well that would correct the z depending on xy location. I’d love to see the resulting movement of the calibrated system. Great work!

Are Stewart Platform type 3D printers preferable for speed, accuracy, or both?

apologies, I didn’t see these remarks, over a year ago! The IR sensors I equipped were seeing too much variance to be effective. I took some data points, which are now long lost, but even after trying different surfaces, reflection angles, and another few vars, I was still seeing results within a ~0.6mm range, I recall. Much too high for our needs. If I could squeeze an extra 0 or two in front of that, then we’d be having a different conversation!
