Printing large objects with a fat nozzle is a good idea. You don’t need a special printer for that - you can drill out a nozzle, or buy one specially designed for the purpose, like the E3D Volcano. Printing directly from plastic pellets is a good idea. I’ve not seen a printer get that part right yet, so if he has figured that out, it’d be pretty interesting.
There are a handful of other 3D printers that also successfully print from pellets. SeeMeCNC PartDaddy is a large delta that prints directly from pellets. Cincinnati’s big 3D printer did the LocalMotors car at IMTS.
