I’m fascinated to see how this kind of tech and the law work out. Imagine someone going to a Disney store and using an app on their phone to scan the latest character toy. Then off home and print it out on their 3d printer… Something tells me we’ll get into some great arguments about fair use and copying etc.

Cool idea, I’m wondering what types of improvements they are massing over 123d catch, which is the in essence the same concept of photogrammetry. Using a single camera sensor, they will inherently have the same obstacles, but it’s always good to see parallel paths in technology. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any android app as of yet :-\
