Mach4 is looking pretty good about now :frowning:

Ok, I had to double the quota again. This is traffic growth again causing more on-the-fly instances to be created and thus the quota overflow. I’m not sure Google should be so aggressive to just cut the site off. I do get instant text warnings now though and I caught it before this post, but it looks like it takes hours to pick up the increase I gave it. Anybody know how to get Google App Engine to turn off the quota alert immediately?

Increasing quota means more out of your pocket.

It’s a free service you have given to us John, I would highly suggest you allow a place for some of us to donate. I for one would be at the top of the list.

Always my fear with a web-only based app. Suddenly it disappears. I love Chiipeppr but it’s hard to use in a production work flow where internet might not be reliable or the app might not be online. I really wish there were a way to package this up into it’s own lite server and be able to run it locally.

Believe an offline was noted the other day.

I agree… it has to be easy to use too. If it is something that folks have to be a computer scientist to set up, it won’t get used. I would vote for a way to tie some specific commit or version to each user’s account, and they can have a little notification to let them know what updates are available to what they are using. And when they are ready, they can update their profile to use the latest widgets, etc. That doesn’t get you offline but at least it lets you freeze updates.

For transition and comparison, In the process of setting up to run either chilipeppr or mach3 at the flip of a switch. I think it’s a pretty amazing project that requires a little more infrastructure for support. Synthetos has attempted to fill those shoes a bit. Beyond cnc,Chilipeppr has the potential to rule over major corporate interest in the internet of things. Why not a non profit and .org “John Lauer for president” or at least on the board of directors.

This organization would have my vote and support,
