Stairlift parts

So, you’re going to use parts from an in-home chair-lift to create a CNC machine? Neat!

That’s the plan steve… Will keep posting the progress

You’ll be able to cut parts for just about anything with the size of that track!

Typically, the issue with long spans is flex. There is/was a guy working on a diy laser cutter using the standard aluminum extrusion. Even the mass of the mirror/lens assembly was enough to cause alignment issues near the center of his 1 meter width. All of that is avoiding any play issues you might have in that system.

I don’t mean to seem negative. I wish you all the luck in the world on your endeavor. I felt I should point out some problems you might run in to with that hardware.

Hi kyle, your point has been taken…this ali extrusion forms part of the 4 meter x axis which is going to be fixed at 4 points along its length… Should really put pen to paper and make some drawings to explain my design ideas lol…
