Got the Pla filament stuck, in my Anet A8 printer…
Best options for removal?.
tried pre-heat pla option, press down on screw and pull it out…, tried to print… but nothing comes out hot end…also tried motor in reverse…

Could be a nozzle jammed with debris. My printer’s a lot different (bowden extruder) but I’ve had to pull out the filament with pliers, breaking it off somewhere down in the depths of the extruder, then disassemble the extruder. If the extruder’s mostly metal you can drop the pieces in boiling water and that’ll soften the material quite a bit and help in cleaning it out.
if you unscrew the 2 fans and pull the connector on the stepper the motor and nozzle assembly comes off. I had this happen a while back and had to fully disassemble it to unclog it. The filament had a glob on the end that wedged it on mine when it happened.
Take the extrider off. Heat up the hot end to about 190 dec then gently pull if that dosent work all apart and rebuild.
thanks guys!, give them all a try
Upgrade to a cheap copy e3d v6 hot end. 40w heater, remote extruder and you’ll never look back.
If the filament developed a bulge at the end, disconnecting the fan that cools the motor/filament momentarily and heating the nozzle slightly above the normal printing temperature can also often allow you to clear a jam without disassembling anything. The heat that creeps into the “cold end” is often enough to soften the bulge and allow you to either push the filament back into the “hot end” of the extruder, or pull it out completely.
If you try this power the printer off before disconnecting or reconnecting the fan. Some 3D printer electronics can be damaged by connecting and disconnecting components while they are powered on.
managed to get it out, yea it was a bulge in the filament… had to strip it all down, small build up in the hot end screw section…
thanks for all the help lads!!
What I do is heat the extruder up and get a pliers and pull really hard
