Graber i3 Day 6: x-carriage
How is the timing belt attached? There are no laser cutted parts left in my box…
Hi Kurt, on my machine, you fold the belt over on itself and zip tie it to make a loop. Then you put those two bolts in the middle of the slide through the loops to secure them. You need to make sure the belt is the correct length (not sure about your setup). You can adjust minor tension in the belts by moving the motor mounts. Hope that helps!
@Brett_Giesler , do you mean the belt ends are attached to the bolts in the middle of each side, one of which is visible on the photo above?
I am at work so I can’t get a photo. But yes, I believe we are talking about the same thing. I know your setup is different, but go to http://makerfarm.com and check out the x carriage assembly instructions if you are still needed some guidance.
@Brett_Giesler hey, cooI! Thanks for sharing ![]()
What @Brett_Giesler said!
@enhydra I am thinking of printing some belt holders like these but I wonder - how do you tighten the belt after fixing it in there? Only by sliding the X motor?
Yes. Well, I added two tiny screws because there was to much space.
