What did you use for the outer diffuser part? Is that a home-made type shade of some sort?
I bought the Diffuser for the PC case LED project but the Plexiglas looked so good I did not need it.

I’ve found that the distance between the LED’s and the diffuser makes a HUGE difference with those swirly effects. Much more so than standard lanterns that I use. I currently have some LED’s twirled around a 1.5" diameter christmas cardboard tube inside a dual layer tissue paper/bamboo lantern that’s 5" in diameterand find that some of the more subtle effects get washed out. So, 1.75" distance is a bit too much.
