Guys, I am trying to make the simplest of parts and if you take a micrometer and Mic out the parts it does mic out the dimensions are correct but for some reason I don’t know if it is chillypeppr or is it the software I am using cut2d that is making my machine go crazy , it just does not make any since. My speeds are very slow and I am taking a very small cut , is there anything I can do to fix this ?
What firmware version are you running on the TinyG? Is it a screw or belt driven machine (or rack and pinion)?
it is a shapoko 2 belt driven and i am running 440.18 firmware
I do not believe that it is a stepping problem what so ever because I can mic out the top of the part and the part is dead on the money .
Check your power management settings on the TinyG. Make sure both the X and Y motors are being powered at all times otherwise the bit can get pulled through the piece. I can’t remember the exact setting it should be but it’ll say in the documentation.
here is a copy of my settings as of two days ago . i have only changed one setting that had to do with my spindle . https://www.dropbox.com/s/zbix1wcvdmu3o4y/tinyg%20settings%20as%20of%209-7-15.txt?dl=0
Here is a video of what it did after I recreated it in cut2d just to make sure i was not doing anything wrong on my end .https://www.dropbox.com/s/eumurx9lcwkj5vp/20150812_171424.mp4?dl=0
Here is a video of the file on a gcode viewer.
sorry i upload the wrong video this sould be the right one .

Your jerk values are very low.
Try $_jm = 5000 and $_jh=10000 for x and y axis and $zjm=50 and $zjh=1000.
If it continues, try drawing in air (no cut, above work) to see if macine push back/binding is a culprit
I also wonder about your Spindle settings.
You have $p1csh=100,000 rpm. My Quiet Cut has max rpm around 12,500. Does your Gcode specify a spindle speed, e.g. G1 X10 S10000? If so, with that setting tinyG will approximate spindle speed of max speed/10, likely not what you want. Perhaps reread https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/50261731/Spindle%20Test%201.doc, focus on how min speed-max speed linear interpolation works for the spindle.
You said in your video you are using SPJS 1.83 but you showed it as 1.80. I do want to make sure you’re on 1.80 because 1.83 used the new serial library from the Arduino guys and it was found to have some bugs which could make a G2/G3 arc get misinterpreted.
One of my videos was a old one I uploaded by mistake , I am using 1.80 not 1.83
Here is a copy of the gcode i am running ,and here is a copy of my updated settings on tinyg Dropbox - Error
@Alden_Hart thoughts? Possibly a G2/G3 arc bug?
Kurt
I believe you entered your new settings in inch mode.
$xjm should be 5000 in mm mode, not inch.
Please post your settuinbgs in mm mode, inch values are hard to follow
Can you try having your CAM software generate line segments instead of arcs? Might want to try that to see if it cuts correctly.
Here are may settings in mm
Here is a videos of the changes i did tonight as far as the settings in tinyg
I will make a new file with a square and a cycle and see what happens !
