Guys, I need some help with a something thats always confused me. X, Y, Z min and max locations. I’ve seen this done on the web every which way… I’m about to install and wire my optical switches so I want to be sure. Where is home supposed to be??? Here’s my image of whatnot think it is but please correct me if I’m wrong. I know I can configure it to work any which way but I’d like to be setup the “normal” or right way. Please excuse my crude drawing. Thanks.

I would do it like that but making shure 0.0.0 is lower left it’s just easy for me to remember the Cartesian coordinates, then homing can be anywhere that make you happy

I will then. No issues with going to 000 in the lower left then offsetting the y the depth of my bed to make it easier to load parts right? I can’t think of any issues with that but who knows. Lol. Thanks @Ariel_Yahni_UniKpty !

The nice part of the lower left is all x and y coordinates are positive so if you wantes to send manual commands they are easier to type in.

@Chuck_Comito not sure about offsetting but you can always home to Max on the firmware specially for Y and Z in your case

You can put them wherever you want, but will have some funny time with motor directions and homing config. I’ve got mine where you have drawn them

#K40Coordinates

@donkjr  “post not found”

@Chuck_Comito strange, I wonder if G+ takes some time to link “#” and posts?

Z0 is in the upper position. The Z-axis goes down to negative numbers.
