guys…
I upgraded from my MKS base to a MKS gen …

bottom line, now i have 32 microsteps… but i think i read somewhere that it doesn’t worth to have 32 microsteps on the extruder…?

shall i put 16 or 32 for the extruder?

You might want to consider that higher microsteps will reduce effective torque and could lead to skips. higher values might also require you to reduce speed to try and keep the torque up.

So far I have not seen the need to go beyond 16 microsteps on axis steppers and I use 8 on my extruders. The practical accuracy of a well built DIY 3D printer (0.2mm nozzle) is exceeded at 8 microsteps.
