H-bot first printing video and result photos.

The result was pretty decent. I worried about quality because many people saying that H-bot has inherit racking issue.
I confirmed basic function of H-bot. I need to do some calibrations further to see the dimension precision. #H-bot

First printing test of H-bot 3D printer.

I got first printing result today.
I didn’t execute full calibration yet, just rough E-steps and extrude temperature.
Printing result is pretty decent in my opinion. Actual finish is better than it looks in the photos.

Layer height: 0.2mm
Print speed: 60mm (Slic3r)
PLA 225 degree.

Very nice. Not sure about racking, my hbot is astoundingly accurate and very smooth.

HBot CAN be plenty accurate, you just need much, much stiffer gantry components than an equivalent CoreXY build. HBot’s belts try to cause gantry skew, and the frame must resist that force. Whereas CoreXY’s belts keep the gantry square and that means the frame can be a lot lighter.

Get some more cooling on your prints and I think they’ll look pretty good.

Isn’t 225 degrees a little too high for pla?

@Baczo_Zsolt There are many type of PLA, I use one made of 4043D, melting point of which is some what high than others.

Looks good man! I try to stay away from pla and use abs as it can be filed/ sanded down then resealed with some acetone… It allows me to cover some sins and bond pieces easier!

@Matteo_Pascolini1 I also have kept away from PLA so far, This is my first time using it for testing new printer,
And…actually I feel like I want to use PLA more. It gave outputs more smooth and neat than ABS. I don’t know all other PLA has good result than ABS in general or only my PLA specific characteristic.
