Had a dragon visit last night. She left a beautiful gift.
Model by @Virtox ! Thank you.
Ps. Wish @ultimaker could ship my spare parts so I could dual-print this. The lack of information about my support case with them is rather annoying.

Now that’s a print I’d like to try. Is the STL posted anywhere?
Definitively: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:144851
How long did it take? Great print.
7h11min at 0.09mm/layer, 50mm/s, 0 infill.
Hi Peter. Do you feel you needed to print at 50 to be successful with that model? I have success with my Mendel90 at 70 but I have tried something so delicate looking. Have you tried higher speeds on similar prints? Nice job btw!
I usually start these over night so higher speed usually doesn’t make sense. BUT usually I print high quality prints at 50mm/s and utility stuff at 100mm/s.
Thx! I can’t print overnight… Just too noisy and not enough sqm in my house!
I’ll downsize one of these type of prints and try it out.
Yeah, I know what you are talking about. Mine is in the garage and I can still hear the retraction.
I even have mine on top of one I those 2cm rubber mats they use at the gym for the treadmills, and although that helps a LOT, it’s still to loud for my apartment… I live in Germany and My Nachbars will be quick to call the landlord if there is even a peep after 2200… You can FORGET about printing on a Sunday here either…
I tried putting my Ultimaker in a cabinet this weekend at a faire but it became really hot
Mine is in the basement workshop and at night I can hear it on the second floor, the noise travels through the air ducts.
I do highly recommend using the rubber pads , approx 2cm , under your printer though. It has reduced the noise significantly… I’m also looking for some egg crate foam for the walls around it, as it is in a corner, and when I have those my problem of noise outside the office may be solved.
I have feet with rubber bands as sound isolation.
Like it!
